We can't thank you enough!

Thank you to the supporters and volunteers who braved our first day of spring snowstorm to make our annual spaghetti dinner a success!  More than 125 meals were served and all of the feedback we received was wonderful.  A special thank you the parishioners of Memorial Lutheran church who donate the location, food and volunteers to make this event happen!


 

Thank you to to the local area stores and patrons who stop out to see us at adoption events!  Recently, we've been to Chambersburg PetSmart and Tractor Supply Co. in both Shippensburg and Chambersburg.  Several of our dogs and cats have been able to enjoy a break from the shelter while our volunteers can provide information to the community about our shelters!  Please remember to watch our calendar for more upcoming adoption events!

BBQ Raffle

This Saturday, April 4th, Mason Dixon BBQ will be holding their annual open house event.  Stop by the Better Days Animal League to enter the raffle for a Weber grill, graciously donated by Mason Dixon BBQ.  We'll be there with information about our organization and a few of our adoptable dogs!  

Bob Evans Community Fundraiser

Stop by the Chambersburg Bob Evans located at 1131 Wayne Avenue on Monday April 13th or Tuesday April 14th from 10 AM - 10 PM.  Present the flyer below and 15% of the sale will be donated to Better Days Animal League.  Our volunteers will also be there Monday evening with information about our shelter.  Stop by and see us!

Volunteer Corner

Volunteers are extremely important to Better Days!  If you are interested in helping Better Days by providing support for resident care, facilities maintenance, our thrift stores or fundraising, please visit the volunteer section of the website.  This month, meet Lisa!

"Good things come in small packages" ... this familiar saying describes Lisa perfectly, and she has been a valuable volunteer for many years!  Not only is Lisa one of our dedicated feline caretakers, she has also given a number of BDAL residents their fur-ever home!  Among them, Lisa has opened not only her home but also her heart to several of our special needs kitties.  Every week, Lisa tends to the numerous kitties in our cattery ... and they all look forward to "her day" as she always has a special treat for everyone!  And don't let her tiny frame fool you, she can use most power tools better than anyone ... not to mention, she's awesome with a paint brush too!  Lisa has contributed her skills to various shelter improvement projects ranging from prepping and painting dog kennel floors to creating shelf units, assembling kitty stands, and constructing new scratching posts.  

Lisa selflessly donates her time and companionship to provide a loving environment in our cattery for those cats awaiting adoption, some for many years, at Better Days Animal League ... and it is greatly appreciated!
