RISE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
YOU'RE INVITED: Â¡VIVA!
(aka RISE 2015)

A Celebration of LIFE in the RISEN Christ.

Join us on Saturday, April 4th, beginning at 5pm, for COTA's annual Easter Celebration: RISE.

This year we will be celebrating Latino-Style, rejoicing in the Resurrection of Christ as a reverse Día-de-los-Muertos, if you will (respectfully).

All are invited to join us for worship, dinner, & dancing.

Schedule:

5 PM: DOORS
We encourage folks to arrive at 5pm to bring any dinner items and take your seats.

5:30 PM: WORSHIP
Easter Vigil/Worship begins at 5:30pm, with Baptism & a Champagne Toast (or sparkling juice, of course)!

7 PM: TAPAS, DINNER, & DRINKS
Tapas & Drinks will be served downstairs, prior to dinner back upstairs in the Great Hall, with live music by Tío Ned y Los Desfibriladores, as well as crafts & activities for all ages (piñatas, cascarones, face-painting, lotería, y más!).

9 PM: DANCE PARTY
Post-taco-consumption, we'll make our way back downstairs for the much anticipated return of Los Late Late Risers (Seattle's most premier cover band). Dancing & Karaoke toda la noche!

Volunteer opportunities abound! Contact april@apostleschurch.org or erinquarterman@gmail.com to get involved.

We will also be asking folks to bring tapas and items for the taco bar, as well as decorations for the night. Stay tuned for más!

**a note on cultural appreciation**
You may have noticed that this year's RISE theme is full of the gusto of tropical colors and the tradition of honoring life/death merged into what we hope will be an amazing fiesta. Church of the Apostles, with the 2015 RISE service and vigil, is seeking to honor the heritage and tradition of Latinos. We hope to foster a clear distinction between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation. Latino culture and spiritual practices will serve as inspiration for RISE ¡VIVA! and COTA encourages participation that is reverent and respectful.
