April at Park Church

It's a busy month, so don't miss out!

Spring has sprung, Easter is soon (this week!), and there is a lot happening at Park Church.  A lot of new people are coming - and will be coming this Easter season.  Let's make sure we are as inviting and inspiring as we can be!

It is an exciting time.  Read on to find out about a new adult-education class, a board game event, and more.

On Tuesday nights at 7:30 – staring April 7th, Park Church will be running a new class on the foundations of what “Being Christian” means. It will be aimed towards new believers, as well as those Christians who want a stronger foundation for their faith. It will run for 7 weeks (ending May 19).  Christian Andrews will be teaching it.

Look for more details on the website, as well as at Sunday worship services.
On Easter Sunday (April 5th - THIS SUNDAY), Park Church will be holding 3 very special Easter services at 31 Park Rd. at 8:00, 9:30, & 11:15.  We encourage you to come and bring some friends, relatives, neighbors, or whoever else!  Full childcare will be offered at the 9:30 & 11:15 services, and only nursery-care at the 8:00 service.
This Friday, April 3rd, at 6:30PM, you are invited to a Good Friday Evensong at 31 Park.  It will be a thoughtful and contemplative service, filled with scripture, singing, and prayer.  All are invited to attend as we celebrate and remember the death of Christ together.
There is nothing more important to Park Church then inviting more and more people to follow Christ.  One of the best practical ways to start is by sharing Park Church's events, announcements, and other items on Facebook.  Don't underestimate the reach of simply pressing that share button. One share could result in thousands of views!  Some of those views might turn into new Christ followers.  So like and share on!
Saturday, April 11, 4PM - 10PM at 31 Park. On International Table Top Gaming Day, our very own board game club, the Exit 105 Gamers, invites you and your friends to stop by for a few hours to enjoy some board game fun! Bring your own games or play something new from the club's game library. Light refreshments will be served. Bring a few dollars for pizza if you would like to grab a slice or two. Email Greg Byrd with any questions.
Lunch Break's "Clara's Closet" will be opening on Friday, March 27th.  The closet offers shoppers a chance to come on a monthly basis to select, clothing items, shoes, and bedding for the their entire family.   We are currently searching for volunteers to work in the closet and the sorting room.  There are many shifts available and the hours are flexible. If interested please contact Susan Haugenes (phone: 732-887-0511).
On Saturday, April 18, Park Church will hold a Membership Class at 9:00AM.  This is an excellent opportunity to find out about the mission, vision, beliefs, and structure of Park Church - and to begin to see where you can use your gifts to serve Christ.  RSVP to Chris West to let him know that you're attending, and if you have any questions.
NOTE: because the first Sunday of the month is Easter, April's Meet & Greet will be the second Sunday of April (the 12th) at 10:45.  All recently new visitors are invited to attend this special reception in the office (behind the welcome desk).  You’ll have a chance to meet a pastor, hear about the mission of Park Church, and begin to see how you can get connected.  It will last about 15 minutes.
Community Groups, our weekly gatherings to help our faith come to life, are starting up the week of April 26, and we'd love to see you involved!  This is the 'semester' to take the plunge.  If you are looking for this, then we’ll help you get connected to a group.  You'll hear a lot more about this through April at the Sunday services and on the web and social media.  Contact Jared Murray, Community Groups Pastor, for more.

HELP SUPPORT PARK CHURCH!

Giving at Park Church has never been easier.  There are a few very direct ways to support the ongoing ministry financially.  First (and the preferred method), you can set up recurring donations through your bank.  Second, you can give online with our convenient web-based giving.  And finally, you can always give at any worship service through the giving boxes.

A LOOK AHEAD:

  • April 24-26: High School Retreat.  All high schoolers are welcome!  Contact Chris Stanislawski for details.

  • Saturday August 8: the Park Church Summer Classic.  A church-wide picnic at Camp Zehnder in Wall Township from 11-4.  There’ll be a pool, picnic, games, grilling, and more.  Mark your calendars!
