A demonstration timber stand improvement and thinning has been completed along the Osgood Hill Trail. (
See map.) The cutting is part of a Community Forest Stewardship Grant project which also funded removal of invasive species, marking of legacy trees and marking of the timber harvest area by a forester. Interpretive signage will be added this year. There will be an opportunity to view the site during our
Osgood Hill walk, on May 17th at 1PM. The
North Andover CAM TV channel will also be airing a segment about the cutting.

Stevens to Stevens Trail Grand Opening
Save the date for the Stevens to Stevens Trail opening celebration, June 17th at 1PM. The new trail links the Stevens-Coolidge Place to Weir Hill. Beginning at the Stevens-Coolidge Place, the trail continues down Andover Street, across North Andover Town Common, and up and over numerous lots donated to The Trustees of Reservations by the Stevens family, and into the Weir Hill Reservation. Trail construction was funded by the Community Preservation Act. Join the Trustees for a ribbon cutting and walk along the new trail. Shawsheen River Watershed Association is planning a clean-up on North Andover's stretch of the Shawsheen. Details on both events will be posted on
