Saturday March 28, 2015....7am
We will be open for limited late season skiing Saturday March 28 and maybe Sunday March 29. Noon - 5pm each day. A good day to return season rentals, purchase a new 15.16 Season Pass at $299 (Rate goes up to $399 on Wednesday), and enjoy a cold beer on the sundeck.
We never set a firm closing date. If the mountain is skiable top to bottom, we remain open for skiing as a service to our Season Pass Holders and any others who want to enjoy some warm weather spring skiing.
For this weekend, just the big Mount Belmont Chairlift to the summit. No lower mountain lifts or easy way down. Best suited to intermediate and above level skiers who are familiar with the mountain. No ski school lessons offered this weekend.
There are only a few uninterrupted ways down the mountain. Hal's to Power Dive, Wild Acres and Cabin Trails to Northwest Passage.
Many other areas have good skiing up high, then end with a hike-out back to the base. Treasure and Surprise are good, but then a bit of a walk down.
All of the Rawhide Gulch Trails have very good cover including terrific skiing in The Big Open. However, you must hike out quite a way on Red Tail Trail back to the bridge. Hey, its downhill hiking and it will be a nice weekend for a little walk!
Ski carefully, keep your eyes open and HAVE FUN!
Lift tickets just $20 for the entire afternoon or $10 per hour.
At day's end, we evaluate the snow and decide if its a GO for Sunday skiing.
They finally got some big snowfall down south this week, so if you want to visit Big Sky or Bridger Bowl this weekend, remember that your Great Divide Season Pass will earn you the half-day rate at those ski areas.
Save $100 when you buy your 2015-2016 Season Pass by March 31st. NOW just $299 but going up to $399 on April 1st. We hope to see you skiing this weekend, but you can also buy your pass online.
