iPueo Headed to Kentucky for VexIQ Robotics World Championship
The Maui Prep robotics team is calling itself the “iPueo” — a bit of wordplay incorporating their revered school mascot with the popularity of those ubiquitous little devices. They are a young team, comprised of twelve 6th and 7th graders, who have been intensely involved in robotics for the last three months along with their teacher and coach, Mr. Branden Hazlet, Director of Technology for Maui Prep. Read more about the team and ways to support them here.
Aloha Maui Prep Ohana,
On Monday, March 30, Maui Prep will host Maui Prep‘s Annual Learning Fair. This is an opportunity for students to showcase their learning. Lower school students will present projects, Middle and Upper School students will present their interim projects and Senior Class students will present Senior Projects. Family and friends are welcome to join us on this day.
Schedule
Lower School Presentations: 10:25-11:10
Middle and Upper School Presentations: 11:15-12:00
Maui Prep is working with the Hawai`i Association for College Admission Counseling to sponsor the Neighbor Island College Fairs on April 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Maui High School. We encourage interested Upper School students (Middle School is welcome to attend with a parent) to attend and spend time with the college representatives. In addition there will be counselors available at an advising table to answer specific questions about options after high school and financial aid. Students and parents from all schools on the island are invited to attend this free event.
Prior to the college fair, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., there will be a College Planning event for Maui families in Maui High’s B-Building. A host of college planning breakout sessions on a number of topics for college bound students of all ages including Choosing a College For You, Applying for Scholarships and WUE, Financial Aid, Translating Financial Aid Award Letters, College Bound Student and Parent Panel, Art School/Portfolios, STEM Careers, Personal Finance and Budgeting for College, and NCAA The Student Athlete.
Please contact Mr. Reader at kreader@mauiprep.org for questions about the event or to reserve a place in school van.
