Raise a Glass for Pay Equity at 4/14 "Unhappy Hour"

The pay gap between women and men has barely budged in a decade. In 2013, among full-time, year-round workers, women were paid 78 percent of what men were paid. (AAUW, The Simple Truth about the Gender Pay Gap). Equal Pay Day symbolizes how far into 2015 women must work to earn what men earned in 2014.

Join us to observe National Equal Pay Day at our 12th annual "Unhappy Hour"  on Tuesday, April 14, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Morean Arts Center (719 Central Ave, St. Pete). Admission is free. Enjoy complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

Click here for the Unhappy Hour flyer and help us spread the word!

Gender Wage Equality in... 2058?

Sometimes, the only way to stomach serious issues is to apply a little levity. Enjoy this recent sketch - "The Future of Gender Wage Equality" - from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart featuring Kristen Schaal, who reports on the gender wage gap and discovers that some sci-fi fantasies will come to fruition before women get equal pay.
