Why Labs? Empowering citizens as drivers of innovation, Brussels April 15th
Interested in exploring the City as a Living Lab approach? Join our event "Why Labs? Empowering citizens as drivers of innovation" organised in collaboration with Barcelona City Council on Wednesday, April 15th from 12-5PM in Brussels. ENoLL is one of the most active networks empowering citizens as drivers of innovation in city ecosystems this workshop is a great occasion to showcase the role of Labs as tools for citizen engagement. We strongly encourage Living Labs working in the domain of smart cities and urban innovation to join us. Don't forget to bring best practices on how citizen engagement can be scaled and replicated in other cities! For more info on the agenda, speakers & registrations see here.
Call for workshops at OpenLivingLab Days 2015 
Now it is your turn to transfer knowledge, find your peers and build future around emerging topics at OpenLivingLab Days 2015 in Istanbul (25th to the 28th of August, 2015). As in previous editions we invite our members, Living Lab practitioners, changemakers & innovators to contribute by submitting a short workshop proposal for the event. Participate and support us to build an agenda that matters for the community, full of active discussions & constructive interactions on current or emerging topics relevant to Living Labs. Submit your proposal here by April 22nd at 17h CET.
Cities from 7 countries boost open standards for Smart Cities
On the 16th of March at CeBIT 31 cities from 7 countries in Europe & Latin America launched the “Open & Agile Smart Cities” initiative to accelerate adoption of common standards and principles for global smart city development. The Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC) initiative (signed by cities from Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Spain & Brazil), aims to kick start the use of a shared set of wide-spread, open standards and principles, enabling the development of smart city applications and solutions to reach many cities at once, by making systems interoperable between cities and within a city. Design for Europe / ENoLL workshop at La Biennale in Saint-Etienne
“Design for Europe – Making a connection with users” is the name of the session organised by ENoLL, & Design for Europe today during the La Biennale, international design festival run by member Cité du Design in Saint-Etienne, France. Design for Europe is a European initiative addressing the imbalance in the strength and capability of European organisations to adopt and implement design-led innovation policies, programmes and actions. The workshop aims to connect design professionals, initiatives, Living Labbers, policy makers & industry in order to advance in the value created by Living Labs in empowering citizens, users and communities in design-led innovation activities. Call for research papers on Living Labs
The Call for Papers on Living Labs for OpenLivingLab Days 2015 remains open until the end of April. Living Lab researchers from all over the world are warmly encouraged to submit papers for the conference contributing to this young and recent phenomenon adding to both the theoretical and practical knowledge on Living Labs in order to advance the learning in this field. Accepted contributions will be published in the conference proceedings with an ISBN number.. Check more info here & submit your research! Deadline: April 27th, 2015.
The 9th wave Membership Application is open
Public and private organisations from across the world actively committed to engaging and empowering users and citizens to take part in sustainable innovation processes are invited to apply for membership of ENoLL until May 14th, 2015. Successful applicants will be officially welcomed during the 9th Wave Welcome Ceremony at the OpenLivingLab Days in Istanbul! Call for evaluators for the 9th wave
ENoLL is selecting Living Lab experts to participate in the evaluation of its 9th Wave Call for Membership Applications. Candidates with proven expertise in carrying out the activities related to the implementation of Living Labs are invited to apply! Kindly register by e-mail including your bio and contact details. Deadline: May 5th, 2015. 
Policies for Educational Data Mining & Learning Analytics Briefing, Brussels April 15th
This one day briefing event is aimed at educational policy-makers, influencers and stakeholders as well as political representatives interested in getting to grips with the current state-of-the art in learning analytics & educational data mining. Those taking part will be introduced to the latest developments in this field and the explosion of interest in tools which can be used to measure learning impact. This briefing is being organised by the LACE project in collaboration with PELARS, which ENoLL contributes to. Registrations & agenda here.
The European Beyond Data Event
What are the latest trends in Big Data & Smart Cities? Do you want to know more about a Living Data City Challenge? Are these Inspiring Lab sessions interesting to you: Mobility, Smart City, Data Care and Data Science? If the answer is yes, join the European Beyond Data Event, organised for the 5th time in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on April 16th, 2015. This year the conference focuses on Open data as an essential building block to stimulate urban development & shape European Smart Cities. ENoLL Challenge 2015
With the aim to enrich and develop services provided to our Living Lab members, we invited active ENoLL members to participate in the ENoLL Challenge 2015, an activity that we launched last week in collaboration with Effective Member Energy Living Lab. We would like to know how ENoLL could better support the activities of Living Labs: helping them to reach your goals faster, support research, grow business, share successes and enlarge networks & collaboration opportunities. Silver Normandie Day, 6th May Colombelles, France
Engaged in the spreading Living Lab methodologies in the Basse-Normandie Region of France, our member Silver Normandie Hub kindly invite you to the first Silver Normandie Day, an event encompassing conferences, networking & B2B meetings with local actors and other French regions. The goal is to stimulate the creation of new projects & partnerships between companies, Living Labs & public bodies. Silver Normandie Day is planned on the 6th of May in Colombelles, France. Get Involved in IoT Week 2015, 16-18 June, Lisbon
The 5th edition of IoT week will take place from the 16-18th of June 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal. It has become the pre-eminent event in Europe attracting industry and research from around the world to debate and showcase the Internet-of-Things of today and of the future. It's a great opportunities for Living Labs to showcase how they are using IoT for end users & the Future Internet in the context of the Open User Centred Innovation paradigm whether this be in the field of energy conservation, security or comfort etc. You are invited to submit suggested sessions, talks or propose an exhibition demoing a project/product: find out more here.
EU Open Innovation 2.0 Conference on 7-9 June 2015
The OI2 Conference 2015 (Open Innovation 2.0) is held in Espoo, Finland from the 7-9th of June, 2015. Organised by DG CONNECT, Open Innovation Group (OISPG) together with Intel Labs Europe, the conference will discuss topics such as student entrepreneurship, open innovation digital platforms, regional information modelling and digitized services. MYGEOSS Call Announcement: apps for your environment
The European Commission (DG RTD and JRC) launched an open call for the development of apps using openly available or crowd-generated data in different domains addressing citizens’ needs. The focus of this call will be on developing applications that will provide users with quantitative or qualitative information on the changing environment, e.g. change detection in climate, biodiversity, water bodies, coastal areas, built environment, green areas, forestry, agricultural land and crops, and atmospheric composition. Deadline for submitting application concepts, prototype, or user stories: 30 April. More details available here.
ICT 2015 Innovate, Connect, Transform
The European Commission, together with the Fundaçao para a Ciência e a Tecnologia Portugal bring you: ICT 2015 - Innovate, Connect, Transform, 20-22 October 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal. The biggest ICT event in the EU calendar is back so join to follow interesting debates, hear the latest news on the new European Commission's policies and initiatives with regard to R&I in ICT, find information about funding opportunities and much more! The call for exhibitors is open until 19th of April & the call for networking sessions organisers is open until 30th of April. Read more here.
GEC Milan 2015 and Living Labs
The Global Entrepreneurship Congress is an event where entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, startups & policy makers get together to discuss their thoughts, share success stories, bring ideas to life and to achieve economic growth. With the company of two ENoLL effective members, GAIA – BIRD Living Lab & espaitec Science and Technology Park, ENoLL took part in the conference in Milan on behalf of the ACE Accelerator Programme and lead a session about Living Labs, highlighting Living Lab services towards SMEs. Great interest was shown towards the methodology and concept that we expect to be reflected also in the ENoLL Living Labs services for SMES SIG.
Net Futures Report
Net Futures 2015 gathered over 1000 participants in Brussels to form an interconnected community involving companies, organizations and people in Research & Innovation, Market Validation & Living Lab Research, Business Development, Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Strategy and Policy Making. The event striving to bridging gaps between these communities, supporting innovations that will more easily & effectively find their way to the market. All conference materials (presentations, pictures, videos, plenary keynotes, etc.) are available through the netfutures2015.eu website in addition to videos and interviews.
