Two new JPI HDHL calls are now open!

Call for research proposals “Nutrition and Cognitive Function”

The Joint Programming Initiative “A Healthy Diet for A Healthy Life” has launched a new joint transnational call for research proposals:
The joint action “Nutrition and Cognitive Function” (NutriCog) aims at promoting research activities that address the interrelation of diet and cognitive function. This knowledge will lay the basis for dietary preventive strategies and recommendations to guide individuals and populations towards health promoting dietary habits.
The objective of the NutriCog Call is to support ambitious, innovative and transnational collaborative research projects that will address important questions relating to the interplay between nutrition and cognitive function, such as perception, reasoning, thinking, memory and/or cognitive processes. Both the influence of dietary patterns (and/or dietary constituents, where appropriate) on cognitive functions and vice versa the effects of Central Nervous System nutrient signaling and cognitive processes on food intake, dietary patterns and eating behaviour are relevant for this call.
Proposals have to follow a multidisciplinary approach and should cover multiple areas, such as mechanistic/experimental research (in vitro, animal and/or human studies), translational research (animal/human), epidemiological research and pilot/proof of principle studies for interventions in humans.

Call for proposals: JPI HDHL Joint Action Food Processing for Health

A key step in the implementation of the Joint Programming Initiative “A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life” (JPI HDHL) Strategic Research Agenda is the development of joint research activities in the area of food processing with the aim to enhance preservation and/or the health promoting properties of food.
On the 1st April 2015 the JPI HDHL launched a transnational call for research proposals on Food Processing for Health.
The main objective of the Joint Action “Food Processing for Health” is to support multidisciplinary transnational research consortia using innovative and scientific approaches to investigate the preservation and/or the enhancement of health promoting properties of food as a result of food processing:
- Food processing for matrix stability and controlled digestibility, bioavailability, bio-accessibility and bioactivity of food compounds
- Food structures for appropriate bioavailability of nutrients and bioactives
- Optimize food processing for quality and safetyThis can relate to products aimed at particular life stages or consumer groups, and may include investigation of fate in the human body and employ model foods.
The overall vision is to optimise food processing to better allow different foods to contribute to or improve health.
