NEW AD CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES TOMORROW!

This campaign is about raising the profile of the professions and continuing the national dialogue about communication health.

Our 2015 transit advertising campaign will launch tomorrow in five major cities across Canada: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. This year's campaign is an expansion of our wildly successful "Awe and Joy" campaign from 2014. Once again, we teamed up with the creative people at McMillan to develop two compelling and engaging advertisements.

BRAVE & LOVE

The BRAVE and LOVE advertisements (shown above) will run in transit stations and vehicles in Vancouver and Toronto
(in English) and Montreal (in French) for approximately six weeks starting Monday, May 4, 2015*. Click here for the exact transit station locations in each city.

AWE & JOY

The AWE and JOY advertisements we developed last year (shown below), which previously ran in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto, will run in English in transit stations and vehicles in Calgary and Halifax for approximately six weeks, also starting on Monday, May 4, 2015*. Click here for the exact transit station locations in each city.

*Please note that some of the advertisements may be posted shortly after May 4, depending on the city and the transit station location.

As with last year, the transit advertising campaign will be supported by a national online advertising campaign through Facebook and Google AdWords.

LET'S GET CANADA TALKING ABOUT COMMUNICATION HEALTH!

Member and associate "selfies" with the AWE and JOY ads from 2014.

We're launching this year's advertising campaign to coincide with Speech and Hearing Month, so the timing couldn't be better to start a national conversation about communication health in our country.

Starting on Monday May 4, we're asking members and associates to get involved and help us spread the word:

  • Print the ads and hang them in your clinic or office. (You can download them here.)
  • Forward the ads to your colleagues, friends and family members.
  • Circulate SAC's Speech and Hearing Month resources. (You can find them here.)
  • Use the hashtags #communicationhealth and #maymonth to join the conversations on social media.
  • Share your stories about the positive impact your work has had on people's lives. Encourage your patients and clients to share their stories as well, either by emailFacebook or Twitter
  • Take a selfie! If you are in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto or Halifax, take a "selfie" (a photograph of yourself) in front of one of our advertisements. Email it to us or post it on Facebook and Twitter. Don't forget to use the hashtag #communicationhealth!
  • Write to your MP to let him or her know why communication health is so important. If you are wondering what to include in your letter, the materials on the Speech and Hearing Month website have information and statistics you can use. You can find out who your MP is on this website.
  • Update your Find a Professional listing. Make it easy for the public to find you and your practice or clinic by ensuring that your Find a Professional Listing is up-to-date. Click here to view, update or create a new listing.
