Yoga, Relaxation & Detox

with Anna Brook
April 10th -12th 2015
Tilton House, East Sussex
Tilton House is a large and lovely Georgian country house set at the foot of the South Downs National Park. It’s the former home of economist John Maynard Keynes and his Russian ballerina wife, Lydia Lopokova, who supposedly liked to dance on its lawns by moonlight.  It remains a discreet and carefree place to stay and is the perfect venue for our retreats, whether you are alone or spending time catching up with a good friend.
Our yoga classes are a wonderful blend of energising dynamic yoga in the morning followed by a more restorative practice of Hatha yoga later in the day. The emphasis of the postures will be on detoxification.  All classes are suitable for beginners to intermediate levels and classes are taught in an all-inclusive manner.

Whilst you are here there is plenty to do to lift the heart - Go for gorgeous, head-clearing circular walks from the house along the flint paths and grassy tracks of the South Downs Way. Visit the kitchen garden with raised beds growing veggies, a woodland yurt with wood-burning stove for yoga, meditation or simply hanging out in, a fire pit, hammocks strung up on mature trees and a tennis court.

Inside the house, there’s a cosy wooden-floored library full of books, and a lovely light-filled reception area reached across a pretty courtyard.

The eight individually-decorated bedrooms use the local landscape as inspiration, bathrooms are modern and there are always fresh flowers from the garden on display.
Meals are vegetarian and cooked fresh from the kitchen, using as much from Tilton House’s vegetable gardens as possible. All food is nutritionally balanced and well thought out to provide you with enough vital vitamins, minerals and energy to keep you tip-top throughout your stay with us.

Thanks so much for a lovely yoga weekend.  The venue was extremely comfortable and the food was amazing.  I could easily become a vegetarian if I was able to eat like that every day.  I really enjoyed the classes.  It was hard work at times but I felt so good after it (definitely two inches taller!).  And of course the relaxation at the end just never seemed long enough.  The whole vibe was so relaxing and enjoyable – an absolute pleasure.          (M Mitchell, 2014)
Cost

The weekend costs £337 for a shared room. Prices are inclusive of all activities, accommodation, meals, snacks & drinks.

* Extra charges apply for treatments

About your host

Anna Brook: Hatha and Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher, Retreat Manager

Anna came to to yoga in 2001 and trained regularly with Edward Clark of Tripsichore in London for two years, in predominantly Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow. This deep immersion and the powerful benefits that came from it, encouraged her to explore many different styles of yoga. She has since trained with many of Brighton, London and India’s well established teachers in Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Dynamic, Jivamukti, Kundalini and Tantra yoga. She has a 200 Hour Training certificate from ‘Tribe’ with Yoga Alliance and is also a qualified Pregnancy Yoga Teacher (having trained with Sally Parkes) and HypnoBirthing Practitioner. She has also completed Uma Dinsmore-Tuli’s Yoga Nidra Foundation course.

Her teaching is informed by all these styles, and has an equal respect for dynamic yoga as a form that powerfully detoxifies and realigns the body, as well as the more subtle practices of Meditation, Yoga Nidra and Pranayama. She thrives on the opportunity to share with others these ancient practices, that have had such a beneficial and transformative effect in her own life.
