Greetings!

When I taught kindergarten I could be found “hopping” to the Bunny Hop this time of year.

So… I was thinking about that and decided the Bunny Hop could be just as fun for older folks, with maybe a minor adaptation.

But first…Where does this song and dance come from?

It started with Ray Anthony’s Big Band. The instrumental version was recorded in 1958. The Bunny Hop was the A side and on the B side was none other than The Hokey Pokey.

For those “youngsters” reading this – back in the day hit singles were recorded on 45 records that held just two songs. On the A side was “the hit” and on the B side…well second place.

So…back to the Bunny Hop. Here’s a video I made to show you the “Young at Heart Music” version of The Bunny Hop. Give it a try!

Now that you’ve mastered that…

You put your right hand in, you put your right hand out, you put your right hand in and you shake it all about. You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around. That’s what it’s all about!

Happy Easter!
Mary Sue

PS. I had an inspiring and educational day training with Teepa Snow last week. More about that in the coming weeks.
