 A shot rings out! Can the Miata Club solve the crime? This is the format: during dinner in a private room at the House of Blues, a "murder" is committed. During the next couple of hours, a detective investigates, questions suspects, uncovers clues, and needs help from the audience to solve the crime. The cost will be $42 per person. Sounds like a lot but this includes dinner, the show, non-alcoholic drinks, tax, and tip. A cash bar is available. Are you interested in participating? I (Bill Woodward) stopped by the House of Blues to finalize our attendance at the Murder Mystery Dinner on May 2. I found out two important things: 1) It is very popular so they occasionally sell out, and 2) We can buy our tickets in advance and avoid being disappointed. You can wait and buy tickets that day but it's risky. Rather than get into an involved process of mailing checks to me, the easiest way to reserve tickets is to call the House of Blues box office and pay with a credit card. Here is the process:
Call the box office manager directly at this number: 843-913-3707. Her name is Riann Yoakum.
Tell her you want tickets for the Murder Mystery Dinner on Saturday, May 2. Be sure to mention that you are with the Grand Strand Miata Club. There is no group discount but it will help them keep us together. The tickets will be held for pick-up on May 2 at the box office or the "Company Store."
On Saturday, May 2, I suggest that you arrive at the House of Blues no later than 6:30. If you're earlier than that you can pick up your tickets in a leisurely fashion and enjoy a beverage while we wait. There is a concert that night so it will be busy. At some point all of the Mystery Dinner people form a line and at about 6:50 they are led to a private dining room for the event. The only way we can sit together as a group is to be in line together as a group. At this point our group is about 10 people so it should be a fun evening.
