A Word From the President

Gudrun Giddings

Hej Alla,

This week we are saying thank you and wishing an excellent future to our dear former SACC-LA President and recent Board Member Lotta Alsén!!

Lotta took the Chamber to new superb heights while she served as the President, her brilliant work continued as she graciously stayed on as a Board Member and she was also the reason I initially join SACC-LA. Lotta has been such a positive force, has such an extraordinarily wealth of knowledge and spirit that it is “difficult” to see her leave SACC-LA and Los Angeles, not only because of her influence on the Chamber but also because I am lucky to call her a friend. SACC-LA will greatly miss her but we hope to see her back in LA often and that she knows, she’ll always have a “home” with all of us at SACC-LA.

Team Sweden and the Special Olympics are looking for volunteers this summer, you’ll find out how to join the biggest sporting and humanitarian event worldwide 2015, further down in this newsletter. Also make sure to save the date for the next and very important SACC-LA Young Professional event on May 1st “I love the U.S., How Can I Stay?”. Finally, we hope to see you this Monday, April 20th at the inspiring business-networking event “Pay It Forward” in Santa Monica.

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” - Andre Gide

          Happy Friday !!

          Gudrun Giddings
          President of SACC-LA

Thank you, Lotta Alsén!

We want to take this moment to thank Lotta for her astonishing contribution to SACC-LA, as a former President of the chamber, a board member and a person. SACC-LA wishes you the best of luck on your future endeavors up north in Seattle.

ABBA - the Restaurant!

The success continues. After having a worldwide musical and movie produced, an ABBA museum was built a few years ago in Stockholm. Now Björn Ulvaeus, one of the four members of ABBA, is planning on creating a restaurant in the same "Mama Mia"-style as the musical and movie. It will be a Greek taverna where guests will be able to enjoy musicians and actors performing during their meal. "They will be part of a little story in real time, which will be played out during the evening," Ulvaeus, 69, told The Associated Press. The restaurant will open in Stockholm in January next year.
