LWP Narrative Review Process Begins

In 2009, Anchorage residents were asked two simple questions: Why do you live here? Why would you leave?

Are the values and concerns from 2009 still relevant? What is motivating current residents to continue making Anchorage the #1 city to Live, Work and Play in? To answer these questions, AEDC has re-launched the LWP Survey.

A new LWP Narrative Committee has been established to help us update the narrative based on the survey results. For more information on this process, click here. We anticipate releasing the updated Narrative in November 2015!

SPOTLIGHT: Trails Initiative Area of Focus
Bond Passes, Bridge Building

The Trails Initiative Area of Focus would like to thank Anchorage for voting on Prop 4 that will enable bridge replacements, greenbelt trails repair and safety upgrades.

We understand that the Municipality of Anchorage is now designing a replacement for the North Lagoon Bridge on the Coastal Trail, and that it will be built this summer!

Check out more information on the Trails Initiative here!

SPOTLIGHT: Housing Area of Focus Project
Housing Survey

Lack of affordable, available and livable housing has been cited by many businesses as a challenge to attracting and retaining employees in Anchorage.  The Housing Area of Focus is working to address this issue through several avenues. For the full update on the Housing Area of Focus, click here.

In 2014, Housing conducted employer and employee surveys to gauge concerns and demand regarding housing in Anchorage. The initial results can be viewed here.

GreenDot Training at AEDC

One of the three key planks of the Community Safety Area of Focus, GreenDot Anchorage seeks to make our community a place where violence is not tolerated and everyone does their part to keep each other safe! #GreenDotANC

AEDC Staff recently attended a GreenDot Training and came away with great information. There will also be a brief presentation at the AEDC Board of Directors meeting on May 20.

The next public GreenDot training is on Friday, April 24, from 1-5 p.m. at the BP Energy Center.

Like them on Facebook to get updates and find out about future training schedules.
