This is the week we finally move back to Waterfall Arts!!!
Belfast Farmers' Market

It's finally time to move outside and back to Waterfall Arts!

The snow has receded enough

We're pushing back the snowbanks and dancing around the puddles, but we'll be back in the parking lot behind Waterfall Arts this Friday, 9 to 1. Wear your mud boots!

Have you noticed that last week's "Sick of the Cold" scallop casserole sale did actually usher in the milder temperatures that we had hoped ? This week to help temper this weekend's cool April showers Pemaquid Lobster & Seafood has prepared a fresh batch of haddock chowdah to warm the soul. Try before you buy. Free tasting this Friday between 9:30 to 12:30. $4.50 a pint or 2 for $8.00.

Kids!

Just to liven up our first outside market this week, Appleton Creamery will bring some kids to play with!
And each week, we have more of your favorite cheeses you've been missing all winter., including halloumi!

Missing vendors:

Several vendors will not be with us this week: Highland Organics will be taking the next two weeks off from market. I will return to market May 1st. I need to take this time to prepare for the summer markets that all start up in May. I am excited about this year and all that I have to offer. See you soon. Call me if you need something before I return and I will try to work something out with you. 207-567-3763.

Enchanted Kitchen at Fire Fly Farm will not be at market this week.

ME Water Buffalo will not be at market this week.

Meadowsweet Farm

I think we speak for all farmers when we praise, "Alleluja, the snow has almost thawed!" It's been a looooong winter, with a lot of shoveling and plowing, a lot of trouble shooting, many a-frozen battery, many a-watering trough frozen, many a- child whining while riding on our backs while we trudge through snowy chores, but Alleluja, the snow is almost thawed, the sun is shining, and it is so good to be alive! Working on a farm through the winter is a challenge to say the least, but it is a divine one.  We learn about the preciousness of life, its rawness, the deep, Earthy reward of surviving, of waking up to another sweet morning, another spring, to dig in the, meet the animals and join the local, Global, Universal eco-dance for another twirl round the sun.
Our family has about a month left living and working on Meadowsweet Farm, and we are grateful and humbled for this experience.  In May we are moving to Rockland to spearhead a holistic social work agency that is facilitating therapeutic shared living with local family providers as well as diverse flex day voc programming including- hopefully soon- farming.  Please stay in touch with us, and I will be happy to share updates on my personal teaching website as well as our upcoming agency site.
