Stop by and welcome our four new gerbils!  Matilda is the black and white one, Midnight is black, Daphne is tan, and Trixie is gray.

Hello,

Great news - the characters from the Aristocats play are coming to storytime at 10 AM on Thursday, April 30!  Be sure to bring your camera for some great photo-ops!

In addition to all of our usual fun May programs, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy will hold a phenology workshop at the library on Wednesday, May 20 at 1 PM.  This project is an opportunity for individuals or groups of all ages to track the seasonal life cycles of plants and animals (phenology) along the Appalachian Trail and in A.T. Communities. In fact, the AT Conservancy has designated several trees at the library for tracking!  By observing and reporting seasonal changes of plants and animals, this project helps 'citizen scientists' appreciate the cycles of natures and contribute to a nationwide dataset, with the goal of understanding the relationship between phenology and climate on a large scale.  This workshop will be held in the meeting room.

Summertime is just around the corner and it's not too early to stop by the library and register for our summer reading program!  Thanks to a generous donation from the Fun Factory, every child that registers for the summer reading program will receive a coupon to the Fun Factory.  In addition, children will receive a prize from the library for every 7 days that they read at least 15 minutes.  The grand prize for reading 15 minutes a day for 7 weeks is a $15 certificate to the Fun Factory!  The summer reading program runs June 14 - August 22.

We hope you can join us for some or all of our May events!
Here is our May calendar for your viewing and printing purposes.
