Hi Moms and Dads

Welcome back!
We are looking forward to a super term ahead with you and your children.
Our main fundraiser for the term will be our Art Auction to be held on Friday 29th May. This is a fantastic evening of fun and laughter, auctioning off your children’s amazing art work. So please diarise the date! You will notice the teachers starting all the art items in their classrooms soon. Items for auction will be mosaic mirrors, fabric painted table cloths, fabric painted picnic mats, place mats etc. Your teachers will let you know shortly what they intend making with the children. More info regarding this function will be sent out within the next few weeks.
We have many new students this term and are excited to welcome them to our school and share wth them our philosopy and ethos. The students will be preparing lessons and activities for the children with the help and guidance of the teachers. All students will be wearng a student badge for easy identification.
Sadly we had to say good bye to two of our long standing assistant staff members at the end of last term. Both have been off work since 20th January and are not able to return due to poor health. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Rita and Mastoera for all their hard work and dedication over the last few years. Rita had been with us for 32 years and Mastoera for 12 years. We wish them well and continue to pray for them in their recovery. If anyone would like to contribute to a farewell gift for them, please place your contribution in an envelope with their name on it and hand in in at the office.
NB We have a secure Blue box next to the front door, attached to the wall as you enter the school building. This is called the fees box. Any money, fees or otherwise, can be placed in this box at any time, particularly when the office is closed. Jane empties the box each morning. Please just make sure that you have placed the money in an envelope  with your name and the purpose of the money.

Welcome back after the short holidays.  Hope you all enjoyed some family time together over Easter.  An exciting term ahead with our “Art Auction” where the children make items for you to buy.
We will be concentrating on working together co-operatively in a group over the next two weeks.  We will also be discussing “Colours” and focussing on your children’s “Fine motor skills”.
I encourage you to do little activities at home with your children to strengthen these skills.  There are a whole list of ideas on my notice board outside my classroom, e.g. pegging washing on the line, spinning tops, pouring using jugs, using tweezers to pick up items, scrunching paper using thumb and peter pointer then flicking the paper ball, flicking marbles, threading.
Our class will be providing the cakes for the Cake sale this Friday 17 April.  This is a great opportunity to help their fine motor skills by including them in the baking process.  Have Fun!!!!!
Have an awesome week.

Hello! Warm Welcome back. Hope everyone had a lovely Easter holiday.
Because we are learning about colours, I've split our days up into colours so children are please to wear these colours on these days:
Tues-Red,Wed-Blue,Thurs-Yellow,Fri-Green.
I will put this up on our notice board too!
TIPS FOR PARENTS: Encourage children to do things by themselves like carrying their own bags, toys, crayons etc.Allow them to unpack and pack their own bags at home and at school.Try and do some basic gross motor exercises, doing them in a group or as a team can be great fun and encourages team work as well as taking turns.Climbing up a jungle gym or even walking up and down a flight of stairs, pulling on rope(tug of war) hopping on one leg or legs together can also be fun, crawling under or over a table.
Have fun! Thanks E&M xx

Penguins

Welcome back to term 2!
Our theme for this week is Dinosaurs. We will talk about different dinosaurs and the children may bring their own dinosaurs on Friday for show and tell.
I will focus on Fine motor skills this week. This especially includes pencil grip and pencil control. To strengthen these muscles, you can encourage your child to draw in the sand or shaving cream. They can also tear up newspaper and make a ball with it. Playdough and scrunching paper also helps with this development. Allow your child to draw freely and encourage correct pencil grip.
Eq theme: calming down. We Will do some calming exercises before starting our ring times every morning and make use of our quiet corner when someone feels upset.
Have a blessed week
