My apologies for a big goof in my eNews. As a writer, sometimes I make spelling mistakes and although the link had the correct price of $199, Sunday's eNews said the wrong price. Spell check won't catch that one. The correction is below and thanks for understanding!

The Day Long Wellness retreat is for you to relax, unwind and hit reset.

That me, teaching last year's retreat. The space is so pretty,
full of natural light overlooking the trees.

I don't know about you, but I've learned that I need personal down time to boost my energy. Sometimes I forget; I put myself last day-to-day when I am busy helping others. I've found that by going on a retreat, even for just one day, it gives me the reboot I need to have more energy for my daily activities.

This past January, I went to a weekend retreat lead by lovely practitioners from Lil Omm Yoga and Simon Says Yoga. It couldn't have come at a better time for me because it was pretty soon after my dad passed away. When I book time away, I'm not able to foresee how much I'll need it when the weekend arrives! It always seems to come at the right time. From my own experience of reaping the benefits, I aim to run a retreat at least once per year to offer the same benefits in the local community.

The kayaking portion of the retreat is always a hit because people find it relaxing on the C & O Canal. I've partnered with Potomac Paddlesports three times and I'm not exaggerating when I say that every tour is better than the last. They have top-notch instructors who are also fun and entertaining. Some people sign up just because of this part of the retreat because we get 2 & 1/2 hours on the water at the start of their kayak season! It's held in the flat water so it's not too rigorous which is ideal for all ages and levels.

Let's not forget about the food! (last May's retreat food is pictured above.) As a health coach, I like to offer the healthiest options for happy bellies, free of inflammatory ingredients and packed with nutritious grub that are gluten free, soy free and dairy free. Vegetarian options will also be readily available. We have full, private access to several outdoor grills and park space for dinner if the weather cooperates. We have plenty of room indoors as well if needed.

Last year, we had a gracious group of women, pictured above after their vision board projects. This year, we're opening the retreat up to men & women of all ages. No experience is necessary for yoga or kayaking! We will journal this year instead of vision boarding and we're making full use of the facility with marshmallows and relaxation by the fire after dinner!

Carderock Springs Community Center is a peaceful space for our Meditation and In-Ear Acupuncture session. The room is huge so there is plenty of space for everyone and it included an open-air studio to listen to nature during the meditation session. Pure bliss.

We're partnered with top-quality, local community practitioners.

Potomac Paddlesports offers a 2 & 1/2 hour
all-levels, flat water kayaking session on the C & O Canal.
