AN INTRODUCTION

Hello, if you have received this email, then you have signed up to receive our new newsletter. As this is our initial send-out, perhaps a little explanation is needed. We're planning on sending out our newsletter once a month, keeping everyone updated with the going-ons of our team, and the teams we mentor. We hope you enjoy getting to know our team!

INTRODUCING THIS YEAR'S GAME

We are extremely excited for this year's FIRST game, Recycle Rush. In this game, two alliances of three robots each attempt to stack totes on scoring platforms and top them off with recycling bins and litter (pool noodles). Points are awarded for each gray tote stacked, each recycling bin added to a stack, and each piece of litter in a recycling bin.

SEASON UPDATE

The AdamBots won the Traverse City FRC Michigan District event on March 13th - 14th. We finished in first place, out of 40 teams, in the qualification rounds. In the playoff tournament, we were in the number one alliance with Team 1711, from Central High in Traverse City, and Team 5692 from Cheboygan High School.

We also earned the most prestigious award at a FIRST District Competition, the Chairman's Award, which honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST.

On February 27th - 28th, we competed at the Howell FRC District event, losing in the semi-finals and winning the Imagery Award. We will next compete in the Michigan State Championship Competition in Grand Rapids on April 9th - 11th.

A video recap of our time at the Traverse City District.

INTRODUCING THE CYBERCATS

This year, the AdamBots started and helped fund a brand new rookie FRC Team 5436, the CyberCats, from Rochester Stoney Creek High School! We are mentoring them, sharing our build site, and helping this new team design and build their robot for the 2015 FIRST season.

At their initial competition, the Howell District, the CyberCats were selected by the 2nd seed alliance for the playoffs. They also won the Rookie All-Star Award, which qualifies them for the Michigan State Championships in Grand Rapids. The CyberCats also competed in the Troy District, winning the Imagery Award and making it to the quarter-finals.
Congratulations, CyberCats!
