The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, along with the Hispanic Human Resources Council, Inc. and the Palm Beach Region of American Jewish Committee, are pleased to invite you to a special luncheon featuring, Melanie Nezer.
Melanie is the Vice President, of Policy & Advocacy for the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS). The luncheon will take place at12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Offices of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, at 4601 Community Drive in West Palm Beach.
Melanie is in charge of issues related to immigration reform in the United States and will update us on the status of the current debate taking place at this time. She will also apprise us of the direction this country is going, in the short and long term.
In addition, among her other responsibilities at HIAS, Melanie has helped thousands of Colombians who, due to the conflict between the government and the guerrillas, have been forced to flee for their lives to other countries in the region. She will also update us on this situation and inform us of the resulting effects on the communities that now host these refugees.
