Our friends, Jennie and Michael Coles, caretaker of a peace chamber in Australia, have agreed to work with Joseph to distribute a monthly message that includes Joseph's artwork and brief teachings. Council of Elders Beautiful Painted Arrow Seeds of Peace Newsletter
In the fall of 2014, after the International Chamber Gathering in South Africa, it was agreed that a Council of Elders who have worked with Joseph would be created to share and promote expansion of peace chambers and dances from Joseph Rael/ Beautiful Painted Arrow's vision. Rick and Elisa are pleased and honored to be members of the Council of Elders. The Council meets monthly to share ideas, develop the annual schedule of dances and put out a newsletter that will come out three or four times a year. . The Council of Elders Beautiful Painted Arrow Seeds of Peace Newsletter will feature articles about the happenings at different chambers. information about the Council's efforts to promote expansion of the work and other fun tidbits. The newsletter, which is different from Joseph's monthly message, can be found on the House of Mica website on the Chambers Worldwide page.

Monthly Sweat Lodge Ceremonies

Please join us for the sacred purification ceremony. Let us know you plan to attend some time the week before the ceremony.

Saturday, April 18th
We will light the fire at 11 am and enter the lodge by 1 pm.

Saturday, May 16th
We will light the fire at 11 am and enter the lodge by 1 pm.

Saturday, June 20th
Summer Solstice Sweat Lodge. We will light the fire at 11 am and enter the lodge by 1 pm. Chanting for peace and a ceremony at the center altar of the peace chamber will follow the lodge.

LOGISTICS:

Arriving at the time we light the fire is appreciated and deepens your experience of the ceremony. Everyone should arrive no later than noon. Please bring a modest bathing suit, two towels and something for a potluck meal after the ceremony. The day usually wraps up around 5 pm. It is important to give yourself time so you do not have to rush off. Donations of $10 to $25 are appreciated. More if you can, less if you can't. Ceremony is always open to all.

Sun-Moon Dance

The Sun-Moon Dance at the House of Mica in Upstate NY will be held Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 3rd.

This vision quest dance, in the tradition of Beautiful Painted Arrow, is a powerful opportunity for personal, family, community and global healing. The dance is done in a beautiful, outside dance arbor. Together we honor the earth, sky, sun and moon as we dance the sacred path to the Tree of Life. Dancers fast from food and water during the ceremony which provides the special conditions that help us enter the sacred space of the divine. We greet each day with sunrise ceremony and have periods of dancing and rest throughout the day. At night we honor the moon and enter into the dream world. A caring team of support people is present to create the safe space that allows dancers to fully enter into their spiritual work. On one level, we dance to honor the present, cleanse the past and bless the future. On another level, we dance to step outside of perceptual time into the eternal presence of the One Divine Being of Love.

Taking the Sun-Moon Dance back to New Mexico in 2015

In 1993, we (Rick and Elisa) participated with others in Beautiful Painted Arrow's first Sun-Moon Dance which was held in the Sandia Mountains outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The dance continued there for several years under Joseph's guidance but a few years after he retired the ceremony grew into other places but did not continue in New Mexico.

We are now following inspiration to re-seed the dance in New Mexico. We took a trip in early April and began exploring possible dance sites and how we can generate community to support the dance as well as a dance to support the community.

Perhaps you would like to dance on sacred land in the high desert of New Mexico, or perhaps you know people in New Mexico who might be interested in dancing. House of Mica Dance Away Program

In support of a recommendation from the Council of Elders, the House of Mica Peace Chamber is pleased to announce a "Dance Away" program to encourage Sun-Moon Dancers who have completed at least four dances at the House of Mica, to travel to participate in another dance. Each year, the House of Mica will offer financial assistance to a dancer and help open the door to communicating with the other dance site in an effort to make costs associated with travel affordable. Fire Ceremony for Peace - Held on the 7th of each month at 7 pm

On the 7th of each month at 7 pm, we conduct Fire Ceremony for world peace and the healing of the waters. A fire is built in a sacred manner in the courtyard of the peace chamber. Prayers for healing, purification of the waters and global peace are offered. We watch the fire carefully and open ourselves to receiving insights, teachings and inspiration. Each of the peace chambers around the world conducts this ceremony so we are connecting to global network of caring souls.

The House of Mica Inc. is federally recognized as a non-profit organization. General donations to the House of Mica, that is donations that are made separate from your give-away to participate in a specific event, are tax-deductible. We will provide you with documentation needed to claim the donations as a tax deduction. These general donations help make the work accessible to all regardless of ability to offer give-away and will also help support our "dance away" program.
