In Our Suffering. . .
A couple of weekends ago, I experienced one of the greatest honors of my life. Joni Eareckson Tada came to speak at a church in our area and I was blessed to hear her in person. If you do not know who she is, she is an extraordinary woman with an unforgettable testimony. She is a woman known worldwide for her faith in God, her ministry, and her astounding outlook on life in the midst of circumstances that, by anyone's account, would justify complaining and a lot of fist-shaking, but she praises God instead.
Suffering is real. Suffering is all around us. But as Joni expresses in this video that I encourage you to watch (7 minutes that could change your life), it is only through God and His Word that suffering can have any purpose. For those whom we serve in UBO who are facing very real suffering, let's introduce them to God. Let's give them His love letter written for their hearts. Let's be the hands and feet of Christ showing them Jesus--for as Joni says, "splash overs of heaven are finding Jesus in your splash overs of hell."
Current Needs
We covet your prayers this month as we are attempting to meet 2nd Quarter needs, approximately 900 Bibles! We are quite short on resources so far. Pray BIG with us and watch God provide! If you feel led to donate, we would be most appreciative, as would our partner organizations and those they serve.

The Storm
Once again we are blessed with a blog by my son, Joshua. He is a brilliant storyteller (in my humble opinion :-) and he eagerly wanted to share this with you all. I'm reminded of one Saturday morning last month when our family was handing out food and Bibles to the homeless in downtown Dallas, and we were reading the Bible with a new friend named Charles. Joshua piped up and gave him the gospel message in a nutshell and Charles responded, "Because YOU said it, I believe it." There is something in the very real vulnerability of children that makes adults want to listen. The phrase, "the faith of a child" comes to mind. . .
