Hello,

Just a few updates that I want to pass along:

College Street closure today (Wednesday) and Sunday (April 26):

College Street between Chapel and George Streets will be closed to all vehicular traffic today (Wednesday, April 22) from 6:00 am until 5:00 pm AND on Sunday, April 26, from 6:00 am until 4:00 pm.  Vehicles will be
detoured to Temple Street during these times.  The closures are scheduled to allow for structural steel installation and air handling cooling units to be lifted onto the roof of the College St Music Hall ahead of its May 1 opening.

Hearing before the Legislation Committee of the Board of Alders on the proposed ordinance to prohibit tobacco use on school grounds, ball parks, and in certain public parks:  Monday, April 27, 7:00 pm.

On Monday night, the Legislation Committee will discuss the proposed ordinance to prohibit tobacco use on school grounds, ball parks, and certain public parks, including Lighthouse Point.  This is part of the Mayor's broader initiative to reduce tobacco use in New Haven through education and increased access to cessation programs.  I am one of the sponsors of this ordinance.  I encourage you to attend the hearing and testify in support of it if you do support it.  If you have concerns about it, please let me know and I am happy to provide you with additional information.
