New view on research mentions

Dear Colleagues,

The Altmetric details pages - the collated record of all the mentions of a specific research output - have had a makeover! We've taken on board a lot of user feedback and worked to create a fresh, easier-to-use, updated design; one that every user who visits should find easy to navigate and understand. Here's a snapshot of the new layout:

Now live within the Altmetric Explorer, Altmetric for Institutions, and via the Altmetric Bookmarklet, the new details pages offer a number of key improvements, including:

  • A summary tab to highlight demographic data and the score in context

  • Extended ‘help’ functionality to give background information on each source type

  • A mobile friendly responsive design

  • ‘Register to be alerted when this output is mentioned’ buttonembed code for the article’s donut, so that the free badge can be placed directly on a user’s website, CV or blog.

We'll be working with our Altmetric badge clients over the coming months to update the public version of the details pages that their users are directed to, and expect roll-out to be complete by the end of July.

For a more extensive review of the changes and updates we've made to the details page, please visit the blog, which features a full overview of the new design.

As always, we'd love to know what you think of this latest development; you can find us on Twitter @altmetric, or send us an email to give us your feedback!

Kind regards
The Altmetric Team
