Greetings Savvy Travelers! Are you ready to take a Virtual Trip to Egypt through the eyes of a 10-year-old? Rhys Hanson of Evergreen, Colorado recorded his recent vacation in a fascinating BLOG.
"For dinner we went to a fish place. I ordered St. Peter’s Fish and was expecting a little filet. I got a fish, like the whole thing! It was looking at me with its head and its tail still on. It was weird!!!! Then we went to bed. See you tomorrow."

Maybe this will be an inspiration for you, your children or grandchildren to capture vacation memories online with words and photos. You may like to share it with friends or relatives so they can be there “virtually” on the trip with you. It is super easy and free to setup your own Blog. If a 10-year-old can do it – you can too! Rhys Hanson – you rock! Thank you for writing about your incredible adventures in your Blog about Egypt and allowing me to share it with Creative Travel Adventures readers.

FRENCH RIVERIA

One of the highlights of my European adventure aboard Windstar cruises was sailing along the French Riviera. Cannes, Port Vendres, and Monaco were some of the many great ports that I got to experience. Monaco by far was the most impressive with the large sailing yachts and gambling casinos. What an amazing country with so many lavish hotels, shops, and yachts. I could only dream of being inside one of those sailing vessels. One of my treasures that I found and simply adored was a cute and quaint town near Port Vendres called Collioure. I loved all the local artists shops, outdoor market, outdoor café’s, along with many historical sites.

Collioure is a charming little fishing village located in the far south of France. Discover several small beaches that are ideal for swimming, snorkeling or sunbathing. It is one of the sunniest, warmest summer spots in France! Explore the history of this ancient city and visit the Royal Castle and Bell Tower. It is often referred to as “The City of Painters” and inspired famous artists in the early 20th century. Picasso, Matisse, Derain, Dufy, Chagall and Marquet to name just a few. The Museum of Modern Art is fabulous and there are art galleries everywhere. Wear comfy walking shoes while walking the hilly streets and seeing the sights.

Enjoy dining at the outdoor cafes with a glass of wine from the local winery. A Catalan culinary tradition is the anchovy and they have a much milder taste than what we are used to because they are so fresh. You may feel almost guilty eating them if you’ve been out snorkeling and seen hundreds of them swimming around. Bon appétit!
Five Stars from a Happy Bride

"Margi was absolutely fabulous! I used her as my travel agent for my destination wedding. She was prompt, professional and courteous. She handled all of the details from the flights to the transportation to the hotel and everything went smoothly and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend her to anyone as I have already referred her to others and am using her services again for my upcoming vacation. Five stars in my book!"

GOOD TRAVEL CENT$ FOR SAVVY TRAVELERS

The airlines are changing the way they do business. It has come to the point where all airlines are charging for luggage and most are starting to charge for seat assignments. It is best to pre-book your luggage and pay online prior to your arrival at the airport to avoid increased luggage costs.

Do you travel frequently on the same airline? If you have their airline credit card they may offer complimentary check-in luggage. Check with your favorite airline to see what the costs are for check-in luggage and seat assignments and if they offer a credit card with added benefits.

THIS MONTH’S TRAVEL TIP

Keep your valuables with you! Don’t pack any valuables in your check-in luggage; jewelry, any electronic devices, medications, money, computers etc. Pack them in your carry-on bag. When you check in to your room, look for a safe and place your valuables inside. Do not leave any valuables in the room. The rule of thumb, if it is lost or stolen and you have to file a police report, place your valuables in carry-on bag or in a safe in your hotel room.

KUDOS FROM COSTA RICA

“Costa Rica was a blast and the resort was great!  Thank you so much for suggesting that country!  Weather was just awesome every single day!  We went on a catamaran cruise, zip lining, hot springs, snorkeling, Tamarindo was fun and all the water sports :) Perfect - you really made it easy!” – S.P.

“Thank you, Margi! Our trip to Dreams in Costa Rica has been nothing short of absolute PERFECTION. The staff is amazing, food was spectacular and the property is SO beautiful. It is so secluded...no other resorts next to it. We have been on our own private beach for a week. So sad it's over! Thank you for your help with helping us plan our trip!” – C.F.
