Two Fall 2015 Workshops with Nova Ren Suma
Fall 2015 Workshops with Nova Ren Suma
Hello!

I hope you’ve been having a great year so far, especially when it comes to your writing. As you know, this is my completely irregular mailing list announcement about upcoming writing workshops and other opportunities to study with me.

I wanted to tell you about two Fall 2015 workshops, both of which are accepting applications right now. One is a new workshop I haven’t announced before, in Texas!

September 16–20

The Books with Bite Workshop at the Highlights Foundation

Co-taught with Micol Ostow

This is a workshop for YA and middle-grade writers who are working on anything dark & twisty—including ghost stories, suspense, mysteries, paranormal, horror, magical realism, or anything that touches on these themes. Together with Micol Ostow (author of the gloriously disturbing Family and the completely terrifying Amity) I will be leading this workshop at the Highlights Foundation, a beautiful retreat center in rural Pennsylvania. There will be critiques, opportunities to produce new work, craft discussions, readings, private conferences, and possibly some ghost stories and the making of s’mores. Selected writers will work with either me or Micol.

If you register by May 1, you'll get 10% off tuition. Admissions are rolling and spaces are limited.

For more information see here.

November 8–14

A Week in Residency with Nova Ren Suma at the Writing Barn

I will be holding a week-long workshop at the Writing Barn retreat center in Austin, Texas, for YA and middle-grade writers of all genres to come together and work seriously on their novels with me. There will be guest authors (Lynne Kelly and Nikki Loftin), talk of craft and opportunities to produce new work, private conferences with me and group discussion, readings, and opportunities to see the city of Austin.

Spaces are already beginning to fill for this workshop, so apply now! Admissions are rolling and spaces are limited.

For more information see here.

I hope you’ll consider applying to one of my fall workshops. Feel free to email me with any questions!

All best,
Nova

p.s. And stay tuned for an announcement about the next YA novel workshop at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in March 2016.
