#Awesomepeepoftheweek: Visual Artist Charles Ng'eno

He draws inspiration from his eldest brother who is a good artist and has learnt a lot since they have practiced closely together over the years. His passion for the art has made him develop his own unique techniques and styles in painting and pencil sketching.

During his years of travelling across Kenya’s beautiful country side, he developed a great passion in landscape and wildlife painting and among his favorites are the African big five (Elephants, Lions, Rhinos, Buffaloes and Leopards) and the grazers due to their grace and beauty. He also enjoys drawing human portraits, still life, abstracts among other contemporary arts.

Neibaz Fashion House: Young Souls With A Distinctly Old Style

Scrolling down the Neibaz Fashion House Facebook page, I encountered endless posts, black and white photos of gentlemen clad in elegantly vintage clothes. Jaya first hit the airwaves when she was featured by hip-hop guru Juliani in his smash hit song ‘Bahasha Ya Ocampo’ in 2011. She has since worked with musical greats like...

Rising from the Ashes: Madoadoa

In 2007 we raised up machetes to our neighbors in the name of fighting for our own, our leaders, who ironically sipped tea and shared jokes as the country went up in flames.

Madoadoa is a story based on the 2007/2008 post election violence, the story is told by a young lady who is at the mercies of a group of young men after they try to kill her for being a member of another tribe. But in a twist of fate one of her assailants changes the script and becomes the voice of reason.
