DANI KREMENIUK  ...

Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A: Anticipation, or more specifically, being so excited about something I can't sit still; the moment when an idea for a story comes together and the words start appearing on the page; booking a role; watching someone important to me (and sometimes total strangers) achieve something great; rock star parking…

Q. Your experience doing jumping photos?
A:
We just kind of went for it. The fact that it was improvised made it even more fun. I think we were even more impressed with the end result as we didn't have any expectations. It was energizing, challenging and empowering.

Q: What inspires you in life?

A: Watching someone else do something exceptionally. Finding beauty in everything.

Q: Your greatest passion?
A: Words, art, human rights and liberties, kissing, traveling…

Q: Your driving force?
A:
Creativity, and creative freedom. It makes so much more possible.

Q: Philosophy?
A:
I'm a big advocate of ease of being.

Q: Anything in the world?
A:
I am constantly trying to be as present as I can in every moment. I know that may sound a bit cliché, but after recently losing a friend I realized that time moves quickly regardless; and if I were to go back to a period of my life when I was just striving for the next best thing–I have very few or faint memories from that time. Going back to the moments that I acknowledged, really took it in and let it resonate–not just the memories, but the relation to such powerful feeling still stirs up emotion long after the fact, and as a result I feel very alive–and grateful. I am trying to stay continually conscious of that.

Q: Working on?
A:
I have always wanted to give opportunity for a voice. I feel like I have been doing this primarily through my writing at
Gazette. The support I have received through this project has enabled me to open conversation on a number of issues, as well as highlight people who are doing what I consider really interesting and important work.

I am also really proud of our first print issue. A year ago it wasn't even an idea…now we are on the shelves of Chapters/Indigo, Whole Foods, and in hotels like the Fairmont Pacific Rim and Four Seasons!
