Spring Community Litter Pick
On Sunday 19th April an enthusiastic group of 20 Chinnor volunteers carried out the 7th Community clear up on some of our most popular village footpaths and byways in the village. Once again, we were fortunate with the weather and it was good to see our ‘regulars’ together with some new faces.

Greening Chinnor AGM

There was a good turnout for our AGM on Wednesday 29 April where we went though the highlights (litter picks, thermal imaging, WW1 memorial tree planting) and achievements (581 volunteer hours) of the last year and electied our new officers: Chair: Linda Brawn, Treasurer: Alan Brawn and Secretary: Will Teale.  We also spoke of some new initiatives for the coming year. A copy of the minutes and the 2015 Annual Report can be found on our Governance and Minutes page or by clicking on the links.

Our AGM was followed by a very informative talk from our guest speaker, Andrew Simm, Commercial Manager from Agrivert. Agrivert is the company who manage Oxfordshire's green waste. Andrew talked about the importance of using food waste as a resource and explained how it was converted into a useable source of energy and biofertilizer which is used by local farmers.
Seed & Seedling Swap
Ever wanted to try growing some vegetables or flowers but didn't know what to try?  We are pleased to announce that we will be carrying out our first ever seed and seedling swap at the FoE Swap Shop on Saturday 9 May. Do you have packets of seeds you don’t want, half a packet left over or sown too much? This is where you can exchange seeds and plants, or just pick up a plant for free to have a go at “GROW YOUR OWN”.

Bring your excess seeds and seedlings to the our swap stall and swap with someone else. Herbs, vegetables, flowers, anything goes. Please label any plants and seeds clearly. It doesn't matter if you don't have anything to swap, everyone is welcome to take a plant (whilst stocks last).

We will also be offering free sunflower plants to the first 30 children and be holding a competition to see who's sunflower grows the tallest. So bring along seeds or plants to swap or just take a plant to try.
Thermal Imaging Questionnaire
A reminder that the questionnaire about this years Thermal Imaging project needs to be completed by 13 May. If you have not yet responded, we would be grateful if you could do so by the 13th. This will enable us to improve this valuable free service for next years participants. The feedback and comments are anonymous.
