Bridge for Health's model for growth

Bridge for Health is a local and global network committed to social innovation towards health and wellbeing for all.  We are happy to announce that after two years of consultation with community members, thought leaders in public health and business, NGOs, government agencies, as well as students and academics, we have come to understand the power of using social enterprises to advance our vision. Today we are building a service-oriented social enterprise to promote social innovation in health with public engagement at the core.

Why a social enterprise?

Our new model will allow us to generate funding from our consulting and research streams, in order to channel profits back to support the sustainability of our advocacy and community capacity building work.

We will continue with our community capacity work and host events and public forums to shift the public dialogue to promote a collective and holistic understanding of health and to advocate for its support. We also have started to offer group facilitation, strategic planning and more recently consultancy services specializing in integrating health outcomes into corporate social responsible business practices.

Our advocacy work continues through social media. If you would like to write a blog about a particular campaign or initiative that is related to our mission, we would love to hear from you. Contact us today : info@bridgeforhealth.org

Our research stream will commence in the next year.

Stay tuned for more updates!

We invite you to share your ideas and projects by submitting a blog for our home page and supporting our advocacy efforts. Please get in touch today info@bridgeforhealth.org

2015 YWCA Metro Vancouver Women of Distinction Award

We are proud to announce that Bridge for Health's founder Paola Ardiles is nominated for the 2015 YWCA Metro Vancouver Women of Distinction in the health and wellness category. As a finalist, Paola also has the chance to participate in the Connecting the Community Award to get Scotiabank to donate $10,000 towards preventing violence against women.

She has chosen to support a YWCA program to prevent violence against women.
"As an immigrant mother, researcher and advocate for women’s health, I have learned that freedom from violence is a critical factor to improve health and mental well-being. Investing in housing is an essential upstream approach to preventing violence against women. I support YWCA’s Munroe House, which offers essential services to create safe environments for women and children escaping violence." Paola Ardiles

Cast your vote today until May 15th, 2015 by clicking here and please help spread the word. You can vote once per day so you don't have to choose between any of nominees. All votes go towards a good cause and area very appreciated!

Business as a Force for Good Health!

We spend so much of our adult lives at work, so how can we ensure we are creating happy and healthy environments for individuals, teams, organizations to flourish and reach their full potential? Bridge for health is developing an action framework to support advancing the triple bottom line for businesses that are committed to social responsible practices (people, planet and profits).
Please read here for more info and how you can provide your feedback!

We are thrilled to announce that Paola Ardiles (Bridge for Health Founder) will be taking on a new faculty position at Simon Fraser University in the area of social innovation in health at the Surrey campus as of mid May. Paola is excited about creating possibilities to build on this framework and work with the local community in Surrey!
