FRESH MiNT #6 - Tasty Territory Talent
Welcome to another edition of FRESH MiNT, a monthly dose of fresh music from the Northern Territory. This month we've got new bands joining the lineup with experienced music producers and seasoned musos. But every song in this eNews is new! It's an exciting time for the Territory music scene, it definitely feels like more music is being produced than ever before... and this is just a taste for you!
Resin Moon - "Closer"
Alice Springs electronic producer Dave Crowe is a man of many talents and many projects. Now, under Resin Moon he has released this layered, down-tempo meets hyper tape-machine drum track 'Closer' - a collaboration with 15-year-old producer DJ James Lakes. This is the first official release since Resin Moon's 2013 NT Song of the Year Electronic Award for 'Awake'.

At The Dakota - "Stumptail"
New kids on the block At The Dakota are injecting an infectious indie/pop sound into Darwin. This track 'Stumptail' is off their debut EP Stories, due July 24, which they're backing with an Australian tour. This track's got a solid groove, a danceability and a message to the punters - you don't have to put up with fake friends (replace them with Darwin indie/pop goodness).

North Tanami Band - "Warlpiri Reggae"
North Tanami Band have been part of the desert reggae scene for the past 20 years. The lineup has changed with different family members grabbing the instruments, but they've always stayed true to their upbeat reggae sound. 'Warlpiri Reggae' was recorded at CAAMA Music in Alice Springs and is the first single from North Tanami Band's new album 'Proud to be Warlpiri'.

Michael Cafe - "The Night Train"
Alice Springs desert folk artist Michael Cafe has a unique sound and gift for classic Australian storytelling. 'The Night Train' is a great example. It's a heart-felt desert love song set to the backdrop of the pulsing Tanami Desert. Will he make it back in time before the departing Ghan, or will his love set sail for Adelaide leaving a broken heart and a busted car behind?

Shapeshifta - "Shapeshift"
And now for something completely different! The Darwin Metal scene is full of young, intensely passionate, committed bands, with a love for DIY challenges. One of those bands is Shapeshifta. These guys wrote, recorded and produced this modern thrash metal core track 'Shapeshift' in one of the band members home studio. Look out for these guys, their EP is due very soon.
