Free resort knowledge seminars!

If you’ve taken on new staff ahead of the busy summer season, why not make sure they’re up to speed with everything Bournemouth offers visitors by booking them onto a FREE Bitesize Bournemouth seminar?

We’re hosting three sessions daily on:

Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 April

at 10.30am, 2pm and 4pm at hotels across Bournemouth.

Each seminar is fun, interactive and packed with information on the resort and takes just an hour, so an ideal introduction to the town or the perfect refresher for existing staff.

Don’t miss this free event, book by Monday 27 April, contact Jacky Thorne.

Subsidised training

Welcome Bournemouth Host is a half day customer care training course designed exclusively for the town’s tourism industry staff. Subsidised by the NCTA at just £40 per person, the course provides training on excellent customer service; complementing the free resort knowledge information available online at bournemouthambassador.co.uk  and it includes a Level 2 City and Guilds qualification!

The next course takes place on Tuesday 12 May, 11am to 3pm. Grab the chance for your staff to gain a new qualification and book your place before Friday 1 May.

Train the Trainer  - if you have experienced employees, don’t let this go to waste!  Ensure they pass their skills on to the next generation so that best practice in your business continues. Again subsidised by the NCTA, our Training Skills for Managers course is just £50 for a full day and will teach you how to train – a useful skill in all walks of life. This is being run on Wednesday 20 May in Bournemouth; please book your place before Monday 11 May.

Free session on Social Media

Successful businesses rely on social media as a vital marketing tool. On Tuesday 4 June we will be offering a FREE two hour introduction, Social Media – Building Awareness and Loyalty, designed for busy tourism operators with little time to spare.  Marketing expert Jim Hardcastle will provide an overview of the best ways to use Twitter, Facebook and other platforms to build relationships with existing customers but also attract new ones.

If you want to find out how to get the most out of analytics, develop great social media habits and best practice, contact Jacky Thorne by Monday 25 May to book your free place.

It’s healthier on the coast!

Did you know that more than one in five people now go on a ‘wellness’ break each year? This massively growing market is worth more than £9.5 billion in the UK, and healthy breaks to the coast are in big demand.

This is not simply about spa breaks, visitors seek clean beaches, healthy air and relaxation, cycling, walking, horse-riding – in short, everything Bournemouth provides!

To find out how to capitalise on these breaks, take a look at the research on our Resource Hub
