Please extend a warm welcome a new member of the Maui Prep 'Ohana! We now have our very own Maui Prep school bus. The bus was purchased from a restricted fund that had been established some years ago for that purpose.

Aloha Upper School Students and Families,

The Athletic Banquet is one month away! It will be held at the Royal Lahaina on Saturday, May 16, from 6 - 11:30 p.m.

To reserve your spot, you must pay by cash, check, or credit card to Mrs. Pupunu or Mrs. Casco in the front office.  Tickets are $55 now, but this low price will only be available for eight more days. Plus, the sooner you pay, the better chance there will be that your seating requests will be satisfied.

Maui Prep Student Senate respectfully requests that this be just an Upper School event. Parents, guardians, guests, and elder siblings are welcome, but no elementary or middle school students please.

From Farm to Table
The Maui Prep Kindergarten class recently took a field trip to O'o Farm. Located on the slopes of Haleakala, O'o Farm has provided fresh food for Pacific'O restaurant for the past ten years and the Kindergartners got a taste of how that happens. The students had the opportunity to learn about what soil is made of and how important worms and other critters are to boosting the quality of the soil. They were able to taste different root vegetables and discovered they are delicious! The junior farmers learned different ways to plant a variety of seeds and the importance of bees in the garden once those seeds have started to grow. The highlight was feeling a fresh egg straight from the chicken coop! These students will now have to bring all they learned back to our school garden so they can start harvesting farm to table.

Update on our iPueo World Competitors
The iPueo Robotics team are finding their way in the vast 1.2 million square feet immensity of the #vexworlds #robotics space at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Our team is rubbing shoulders with young engineers from India, Puerto Rico, China, the UK, Colombia, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore ....making new friends from across 27 countries and working on technical puzzles together...multi cultural global-education, hands-on-learning, and collaboration for real. The team is currently ranked number 9 out of 105 teams in their division. This is changing every couple of hours, but this young team is soaking up all the challenges and learning from their mistakes. ~Mr. Hazlet
