Welcome to the Heritage Herald

If this is the first time to view the new Herald ~ Welcome!   We expanded our mailing list to Heritage Family and Friends.  The Herald is the weekly digest of happenings at the school.  We showcase our students and their accomplishments, sports results and calendar as well as a link to the Blog by Head of School, Matt Skinner.  We are thankful to include you and hope you feel a part of the family.

4th State Championship Tennis Girls Doubles


Sydney Richburg and Christina Harpold won their fourth State Championship in TAPPS Tennis Girls Doubles for the fourth year in a row.  Their efforts and that of their fellow tennis team brought the Heritage School Tennis team in First Place at State for both the Boys and Girls Team.  See the official results in the report below by Trey Graham, Athletic Director.  Congratulations!

Grammar School Village

K---Students are journaling the development and growth of their bean seeds.
1--- I was pleasantly surprised when two different children read an extra hour the second night our Banana Split Reading incentive started!
2--- We are starting an Insect unit in Science and finishing our book reports on a Texas hero.
3---Third graders are learning to divide two digit numbers this week.
4---We are rehearsing for our Shakespeare play and writing outlines for our insect research papers.
5---We have begun a new unit in science on mammals and are finishing up our study of Greece in history.

Poster Contest: Attention 6th - 8th Grade Students

Pioneer Museum is sponsoring an illustrated poster contest for the 2015 Founders Day Celebration on May 9.  The theme is History of our Heritage in Gillespie County. The contest is open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades in schools throughout the county.  Cash prizes  of $200, $100, and $50 will be awarded for first through third places.    Poster size no larger than 22” x 28” is allowed.  Drop off for the posters is the Pioneer Museum Store at 325 W. Main on Saturday, May 9th between 10:30 and 12:30.  Judging and awards will be 1:00 p. m. on Saturday.

Rhetoric and Logic School Student's Artwork Exhibit

Wonderful artworks were sent to the KACC Youth Art Exhibit again this year from the Upper School.  A reception will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 1:00 til 3:00 pm.  The KACC or Kerrville Art and Cultural Center is held in the old Kerrville Post Office Building on the Corner of Earl Garrett and Junction Highway (Main Street).  The show will be going on from April 2nd until April 27th, so try to drop by and visit the exhibit the next time you are in Kerrville!  Congratulations to our talented young artists! >>Continue Reading

 A few members of the Heritage High School Track Team attended the RRCA (Round Rock Christian Academy) Relays in Florence last Saturday, April 11.  The highlights of those who competed for Heritage are as follows:

  • Elliott Grimes – 7th in Varsity Boys Discus, 5th in 110 Meter Hurdles

 The next meet for the Heritage team will be the TAPPS 1A South Regional Track and Field Championships in Bastrop on April 30.

Logic School Track Teams Win!

The Girls Team came in 2nd Place and the Boys Team came in 3rd Place.  What a great way to close out the Logic School track season.  Congratulations!
