NCMA NORTH TEXAS
!!!!! REMINDER !!!!!
RSVP FOR THE APRIL 21st DINNER MEETING NOW!
Please join the NCMA North Texas Chapter for the next dinner meeting on Tuesday evening, April 21st, starting at 6:00 PM at the Embassy Suites – Park Central.
Ms. Amy Jordan,
Economist
Our April speaker is Ms. Amy Jordan from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Ms. Jordan will be speaking on " A Texas Economic Update".
Ms. Jordan is an assistant economist at the Dallas Fed. As a member of the Research Department’s regional group, she conducts research on regional economic issues. She writes the release for the Dallas Fed’s Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey, analyzing economic conditions in the service sector, including retail. She also collects information for the 11th District Beige Book—a summary of regional economic conditions—and works on the Quarterly Survey of Agricultural Credit Conditions. Ms. Jordan holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and economics from the University of North Dakota and an MA in economics from Cornell University.
This should be a fascinating evening and very timely given the recent economic news. So, unless you are attending Texas A&M Aggie Muster on April 21st, then you should come on out, shake off those April Fools and April showers, and join your colleagues for good time of networking, renewing old friendships, and learning some timely new information! You will not regret it!
SPOTLIGHT ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Each month we will "spotlight" one of your NCMA North Texas Chapter Board of Directors. This month we spotlight Mr. William Pinkowski, 2014-2015 Vice President of Finance on the BoD.
Bill has been in Subcontracts and Procurement for the last 17 years, 10 of which were in the capacity of Procurement Contracting Officer (PCO) for the Department of the Air Force and the last 7 in the capacity of Subcontracts Manager for Alliant Techsystems and Raytheon Company. Bill entered the Air Force in 1984 with a desire to serve his country and was given the opportunity to serve in several overseas campaigns including humanitarian missions in Honduras, Operation Southern Watch in Ryiadh, Saudi Arabia, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq. In his current position at Raytheon Company, he is the Subcontracts Lead managing laser technology acquisitions supporting Raytheon's Surveillance and Targeting Systems (STS) product line.
In 2010, Bill was given an opportunity by the then current North Texas NCMA Chapter President, Justin Craun to become the Certification Chair, providing advice and guidance to members wishing to obtain their certification while offering study sessions to help members prepare for testing. Then in 2012 he filled a vacancy for VP Finance when the current Treasurer relocated. Bill continues to enjoy serving the NCMA North Texas BOD and helping members get the most out out of their membership commitment. Bill would like to see the North Texas Chapter offer at lease one training workshop and one certification study session each year offering members the opportunity to maintain and expand their professional skills and knowledge base.
Bill was born and raised in the Hudson Valley Region of Upstate New York. He is married with 1 daughter who is 12 years old and enjoys Golf.
