Volunteers are part of the ripple effect!
As National Volunteer Week comes to a close (April 12 to 18), our entire Volunteer MBC team would like to thank all our in-house volunteers, and YOU, for making such a profound difference in our community.
A volunteer action is like a stone thrown in a lake: its effect has a direct impact. At the same time, like ripples, volunteer efforts reach out far and wide to improve communities. Undeniably, volunteers rock.

Introducing Volunteer Attract!
To serve you better, this past week during National Volunteer Week, we officially launched our new on-line volunteer opportunity database – Volunteer Attract.
The Volunteer Attract database provides a host of new features for individuals who are searching for volunteer roles, such as the ability to search for skills-based opportunities; and direct access to a secure profile log-in.
If you were a user of Volunteer MBC’s previous on-line system, you will need to create a new profile in Volunteer Attract by:
Once you have created your new on-line profile, you will have access to search and submit referrals for volunteer roles that suit your interests, expertise and passions.
When submitting a referral, an email is sent to the main contact of the organization for the role that you have expressed interest in. You should receive a response within 5 to 7 business days.
With the launch of this new on-line volunteer opportunity database system, Volunteer MBC will be able to expand and grow our volunteer referral/matching service to support the needs of our member community service organizations, as well as the needs of individuals, like YOU, who are looking to give back and make a difference in our community.
Should you have any questions, require assistance in using Volunteer Attract, or if you would like to share your feedback regarding our new on-line volunteer opportunities database, please contact us at 905.238.2622 or by email at 2volunteer@volunteermbc.org.
We look forward to continuing to be of service to you!

YOUth Can ChangeTheWorld!
We are moving into the 2nd week of the ChangeTheWorld – Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge. ChangeTheWorld is a call to action for YOUth to get involved in their community.
From April 12 to May 24, 2015 all across Ontario youth between the ages of 14 to 18 are invited to get involved in local community events, or to create events of their own to promote or support a cause that they feel really passionate about.
The campaign is a great opportunity to work towards your 40 hours of community service and to be recognized for your efforts with a certificate signed by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade (MCIIT) and Volunteer MBC.
