Dictionary & Lexicography Services Video

This v ideo features the Rapid Word Collection (RWC) workshop held in Nepal in September 2014, highlighting some of the progress Dictionary & Lexicography Services (DLS) has made since it came into being three years ago in June 2012. Facilitating RWC workshops is a service provided by DLS of SIL International.

A Note from Philip Perry

As more and more language programs began using Webonary.org to publish dictionaries, memory issues occurred during the import stage. This caused the process to restart which then caused the import to terminate. Therefore, the recommendation was to split large xhtml files into smaller files. The importer has been fixed to run as an external process. Thus, it is no longer necessary to split the xhtml files. We hope your import experience will be more pleasant from now on.

If you would like to publish a dictionary on Webonary.org, please fill out this application form. If you already have your dictionary on Webonary.org, but it has not been made public, please send me an email, verna_stutzman@sil.org.

It is relatively easy to publish on Webonary.org if your lexical data is in Fieldworks Language Explorer (FLEx). If you are using an older program like Toolbox or software that is not designed specifically for Lexicography and you need help converting and importing your lexical data into FLEx, please send me an email, verna_stutzman@sil.org.
