Mr. Hector Arguello
Legislative Aide, Representative Carlos Curbelo

Dear Mr. Arguello:

We first want to thank Rep. Carlos Curbelo  and you for all you do toward the common good.  Please see here the link to our last letter sent to Rebecca Tallent, Assistant to Speaker Boehner on immigration reform, dated April 28, 2014.

We understand that the President has taken limited and temporary executive actions to address our broken immigration system. Due to injunctions issued by courts in 29 states and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals not granting the administration a fast ruling, it appears that the only solution is that the Congress pass a bipartisan bill.

Our coalition, that seeks to act as a bridge between both parties, believes that the ideal solution to our broken immigration system lies in a solution brought forth by Congress before the appellate courts rule on the injunctions. This approach addresses the legalization of the 11 million undocumented persons living in our country rather than the subset represented by the President's approach.

We are reaching out to you to find out whether the new Congress will proceed with legislation to fix our antiquated immigration system in 2015.  We urge the Congress to do so as it will not only fix our broken immigration system but it will also provide economic benefits to our state and create opportunities for undocumented children to continue their post secondary education. I will call you later on today to see how we can help bring forth this effort.

                Sincerely,
