Greetings, all;

It all started in 1970, 45 years ago today. And maybe now, Earth Day is more important than ever before.

You can participate in Earth Day by planting a garden and growing some of your own fresh produce. Grow local; eat local. We grow chili peppers, of course, but the methods translate to almost any type of garden vegetables. Even if you have limited space, you can grow in containers. We've written a couple of articles to help you get started. Here's one about an organic soil mix we developed for container gardening. And here's one focused on starting and growing peppers in containers; similar methods apply to tomatoes, eggplants, and other bushy vegetables.

Spring has definitely arrived in our Nobska Farms greenhouse where we have been planting chili pepper seedlings since mid-winter. For those of you near Cape Cod, we're planning three Open Houses in May so folks can purchase seedlings for their own gardens or containers. We have varieties that range from mild to wild. Mark your calendars for Saturday May 16, 23, 30 from noon to 3pm. Come by the farm at 9 Nobska Rd in Woods Hole. You can tour our growing operations and get seedlings to go!

In honor of Earth Day #45, we will include one FREE "GREEN" Poquito Verde Hot Sauce on any order of $45 or more when you shop at our e-store from now until April 26.

Happy Spring!!

Cheers,
  Big Red Rooster
