Updated PMVI Technician Guidebook for Commercial Vehicles Now Available Through OSBA

OSBA is now accepting orders for the updated Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection (PMVI) Technician Guidebook for immediate shipping. The new guidebook is an essential tool for ensuring Motor Vehicle Inspection Stations (MVIS) and technicians conduct annual and semi-annual inspections in full compliance with HTA Regulation 611 and the latest National Safety Code Standard 11B, Version 2014.  The 184-page book is colour illustrated and provides a comprehensive explanation of the national standard which Ontario has adopted. It provides a detailed description of the components/systems that need to be inspected, the inspection method/procedure, and what constitutes a “pass” or “reject” condition. And the best news of all, we’ve reduced the price of the book from $29.95 to just $19.95 for OSBA members. Every technician conducting PMVI inspections and signing safeties should have this book in their toolkit!  To order the guidebooks, please go to the following link:
http://www.osba.on.ca/files/Technician_Guidebook-order-form_2015.pdfRevised PMVI Inspection forms will be available soon for purchase through OSBA. The new forms incorporate changes made recently to both Regulation 611 and the National Safety Code 11B (Version 2014). Technicians should be reminded that the Regulations now require an inspection form to be completed each time an annual or semi-annual inspection sticker is issued.
