Things people actually care about: learning opportunities. The ability to take on new areas of responsibility. Having their voices heard and appreciated by their team, and being given the chance to execute their own ideas.

Of course, a free international vacation doesn't hurt, either.

But without all the important stuff in place, freebies are meaningless.
