My most favorite thing in the world is when a really massive investment bank asks us for free access to CB Insights in exchange for exposure in some powerpoint deck they're working on.

These decks are rumored to go to all sorts of high profile clients.

Let's dissect this trade.

  1. Bank gets a product which will get their bankers out of work early and make them look good in front of their clients. It will make them more money.
