SOMArts Cultural Center Presents
SOMArts SOULstice Party & Fundraiser
M-1 of Dead Prez hosts a fundraiser for SOMArts, featuring live music, a dance battle, visual art & a tasty silent auction featuring Bay Area restaurants, Saturday, June 20, 2015, 4–8pm

San Francisco, CA, May 18, 2015–– On Saturday, June 20, 2015, 4pm to 8pm, M-1 of Dead Prez hosts SOMArts SOULstice Party, an all-ages fundraiser for SOMArts Cultural Center featuring live music and art, a dance battle, cash bar and pupusas on the patio, and a tasty silent auction.

The event includes performances by M-1, Antique Naked Soul, Kev Choice, Khafre Jay and more, and features DJ’s Leydis, Sake One, Lex of Souls of Mischief, and Brown Amy on the turntables. At 5pm there will be a freestyle & turf dance battle with a cash prize.

Many different cultures celebrate the solstice–– it’s a time to remember that we, like the sun, contain the power to nurture and sustain, and that we have a responsibility to burn as brightly as we can. The SOULstice Party is an opportunity to have some fun and help SOMArts Cultural Center, a long-standing San Francisco cultural beacon, shine on into its 36th year of promoting cultural connectivity & multifaceted participation in the arts.

During the event guests can register and bid in a silent auction featuring gift certificates to over 100 Bay Area restaurants. A credit card and contact information is required to register. Bidders need not be present to win when bidding closes at 7:45pm.

Visual art by a few of SOMArts' longstanding collaborators and resident organizations will be on view during the event, including ArtSpan, Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center, Chrysalis Print Studio, Queer Cultural Center, and Sixth Street Photography Workshop.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, with special pre-sale discounts while they last. Advance tickets are recommended:  http://soulsticeparty.eventbrite.com
