ALL launches new lecture series

Welcome to the very first edition of the Australian Learning Lecture (ALL) update. We are very excited to launch this thought provoking biennial lecture series which seeks to bring big ideas around learning into the spotlight.

We hope you have already booked to attend the free lecture but if not, visit www.all-learning.org.au to book your tickets today.

In preparation for the series launch, ALL commissioned a national Newspoll survey about Australians’ learning habits. What was apparent from the results was an overwhelming support for the ‘value of learning’, for both the benefit of society as a whole (84 per cent) and for the individual (90 per cent).

It seems obvious that people have an interest in or value learning - but this is not reflected in public discussion. ALL aims to tap into this desire and contribute to the growth of an innovative and lively learning culture in Australia.

An unexplored opportunity exists to discuss and celebrate what individuals are learning, the resources they are using and to compare problems and solutions. ALL will be the conduit for this discussion and will rally a range of education experts to share their work and vision with our audience.

We are thrilled to have renowned educationalist Sir Michael Barber pictured) kick off the lecture series and discuss the rarely explored intersection between the joy of learning and the way in which we use data to measure, value and enable success. Sir Michael will be introduced by Dame Quentin Bryce, an advocate for learning over many years.
