Women out West

WoW, Saturday 2nd May 8:30am

A final invite to all our local ladies and their friends to come down and have a sail in one of our Topaz dinghies. Amanda is once again making sure everyone is well looked after on shore, Matt and Fergus will again be there to help you on the water. It's an early start 8:30am, the forecast is for light breezes from the west. Bring your warm gear as it's likely to be quite cold.

A big thank you to all Club members who assisted at the Women's Laser Regatta. Your help certainly made this a great event. It was a long day but "all hands on deck" made the event run smoothly and places the club in good shape for future regattas.

Hamish and Megan
revel in the breeze at Takapuna

ANZAC Weekend Regatta, Takapuna BC

French Bay sailors dominated the ANZAC Weekend Regatta. Megan sailing her Laser Radial and Hamish sailing his 3.7 both won their classes in big breeze in the regatta, held over two days at Takapuna Boating Club. Hamish scored a 1,1,3,1,1 beating the current National Champion four times and taking hold of a trophy which was first won by Bruce Farr. Meg, sailing her shiny new boat, closed her series out with a 2,1,2,1,1. Way to go! Thanks to The Watershed for the prizes and to Takapuna for putting on the racing. A great way for our youth sailors to close out the season!

Strategic Planning evening

Thank you all for participating!

A big thank you to all those who participated in Friday night's Strategic Planning evening and to Zoe, our convenor, for leading the club through this process. It was fantastic to see so many people down at the club showing a strong interest in continuing the good work carried out by the leadership team over the past five years. The amount of passion and enthusiasm shown for our little club was inspiring and it's hoped that this event will lay the foundations for the next phase of growth ... by doing things the French Bay way!
