April 2015

This past month has seen even more announcements of security issues related to various WordPress plugins and even in the core of WordPress. I wrote up a brief explanation about XSS. A guide to Understanding WordPress Plugin Vulnerabilities, from the great folks at Sucuri is still helpful. Several years ago I explained a bit about the whys of software updates. Yes, you should care about this even if your site is small.

With the coordinated release of updates to several plugins to address the XSS vulnerabilities and to WordPress for the 0day comment vulnerability, I saw my carefully planned schedule go to pieces. That's ok. Here's how I keep on top of critical tasks and don't feel overwhelmed.

Any new tech issues or questions this month? Please let me know, I'd be happy to help.
