Welcome to ECG's monthly newsletter, providing insights and advice about all things HR!
May 2015

Greetings from ECG!

I am both thrilled and honored to have been invited as a guest speaker to last month’s Hotel Association of Los Angeles.  HALA acts as the hospitality industry voice to city and county governments.  Councilmember Paul Krekorian spoke, as did other illustrious guests, including Bud Ovrom of the LA Department of Tourism, Ms. Patti MacJennett of the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board, and Ms. Kristina Azlin, Attorney with Holland & Knight. The audience of approximately 60-70 hospitality professionals included primarily Hotel Ownership Representatives, General Managers, Managing Directors, HR Directors and Sales & Marketing Directors amongst others.

Our presentation included information from the latest annual Hospitality Industry Benefits & Compensation Survey.  Attendees were given a “peek preview” of the survey results where a total of seventy-two (72) Southern California hotels participated, representing 22,665 guest rooms and a total of 21,572 full time employees. If you are interested in the survey results, they are available for purchase to non-participants.  Please email us at info@ExecutiveHRConsulting.com, or call us at 818-845-5584 for more information.

Summer is just around the corner, as will the Southern California “HEAT”!  Make sure you check the blog below referencing the new heat illness regulations published by OSHA (Deadline for compliance is May 1, 2015).

We are also pleased to announce that our industry experience is expanding!  We now provide HR Consulting services to the fashion, movie production and medical industries. Our restaurant industry experience is expanding, as we are now working with three new restaurant groups; two of which will open their facilities downtown Los Angeles this summer!
