No matter how or why you ride, the month of May is dedicated to celebrating the joy and many benefits of bicycling. Check out the League of American Bicyclists website for downloadable posters, web graphics, and event ideas to help your community make the most of Bike Month.
One easy - and very fun - way to celebrate Bike Month is by joining the National Bike Challenge. Running May 1-September 30, the Challenge is a free ride tracking initiative to encourage more Americans to ride more often. Earn points for mileage and frequency, and you might win some exciting prizes! Learn more, and accept the Challenge!

"Dead Red" law passes
In its just concluded session, the Georgia General Assemby passed Senate Bill 76, the "Motorcycle Mobility Safety Act," which details "the safe operation of a motorcycle or bicycle through an inoperative traffic-control signal." In essence, this law states that you may cautiously ride through a red light if you have waited a "reasonable" amount of time and have determined that the light will not change due to the small size of your vehicle (motorcycle or bicycle). The bill is currently awaiting a signature from Governor Deal.

Share the Road tags
Event when you have to use four wheels, you can show your support for bicycling with a Share the Road car tag. Simply request the tag when you purchase a new motor vehicle or renew your existing tag. Proceeds directly support our work to promote and improve bicycling throughout the state. Thanks for your support!

Join the National Bike Challenge
The National Bike Challenge is a nationwide event uniting thousands of current bicyclists and encouraging countless new riders.The Challenge is a simple way for people to record miles ridden and be part of the national community of bicyclists. It's a free and easy way to challenge yourself, colleagues and the greater community to ride more. Users compete on a local, state and national level. The Challenge aims to unite 75,000 riders to pedal 35 million miles from May 1, 2015 until September 30, 2015.
