Assistant Project Worker


Full-Time Vacancy
Salary £19,000 per annum

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly 5 days over 7 to meet the demands of the service, involving regular weekend and evening work.  The geographical location of the role will cover the East Services.

Assistant Project Workers are flexible and committed workers, providing professional intensive support and using our ‘A Better Life' toolkit with Young People who place themselves at risk and are often excluded from the community.  This will also involve working with colleagues, external partners and other agencies to build professional relationships enabling the best service provision to Young People. 

You must also be able to produce written reports and record front-line activity using Includem’s Information System to evidence on outcomes on the work undertaken to support and inform the Team Manager of progress in terms of Care Plan objectives.

- Committed and flexible to work in line with service demands, including regular weekend and evening work
- Experience of working with vulnerable people, ideally in the Social Care sector
- Understanding of how Includem work and how this compliments statutory services
- Demonstrate you are able to effectively engage with Young People and their families
- Able to develop safe, professional and committed relationships with Young People, families and other external partner agencies
- Strong skills in communication and influence
- Ability to work effectively with other professional workers
- Able to assess risk and de-escalate situations
- IT Literate in working with Microsoft Office and to work with our internal Information Systems
- Essential Car User with business insurance

The role requires working out in the community with Young People and their families to deliver the professional intensive support service in line with the Support Plan objectives and role demands in line with the operational standards.  You must use your theoretical knowledge and apply our ‘A Better Life’ toolkit to support the Young People and fulfil the case management responsibilities.  You will also produce written reports and record front-line activity using Includem’s Information System to evidence outcomes and work undertaken in relation to Support Plan objectives.

Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCiL)

Independent Living/Information Officer
post (full time)

Based at Norton Park, Edinburgh

This unique post will have two distinct purposes and as a result the officer will work within two different teams. Four days/week as an Independent Living Officer within the Independent Living Team and one day/week as an Information Officer within the Grapevine Service  based in the Astley Ainsley Hospital.  Both roles include home visits to Service Users (SUs).

Post objectives:
- To support individuals considering or in receipt of self- directed support (SDS) to develop flexible and creative independent living opportunities.
- To respond to referrals to the Grapevine Service from the COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) NHS Lothian team based at the Astley Ainslie Hospital and ensure that individuals are provided with accurate, up to date, accessible, information and advice relevant to their own individual needs, entitlements and rights.

Minority Ethnic Employment and Training Support Project: Assistant Employment Advisor

WSREC’s MEETS project will be working to deliver an employment and training project which will support people from minority ethnic communities to enhance their prospects within the world of work by targeting people who are economically inactive, with a particular focus on Roma community members, asylum seekers, refugees and minority ethnic individuals who are disabled.  The project aims to work strategically with a range of partners to support the pathways of target beneficiaries through provision of training, work placement and advisory services. A key aspect of the approach will be to ensure that beneficiaries gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to respond to appropriate opportunities within a supportive, inclusive environment.

Rape Crisis Scotland

Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre: Female Development Manager


£30,039 per annum 35 hours per week + 6% pension (funded in the first instance to 31st March 2016)

Rape Crisis Scotland are seeking a dynamic Development Manager to establish, develop and manage this exciting new service providing much needed support to women, men and young people aged 13+ who have experienced sexual violence.

Applicants should have experience of developing support services, experience in leading and managing staff and volunteers and a good understanding of issues relating to sexual violence

A PVG check will be undertaken as part of the selection process

2. “Young people challenging sectarianism and prejudice”
Task: To bring young people from diverse faith and belief traditions together to run a project based on the lessons of intra-Christian sectarianism in Glasgow.
